Breguet unveils the only minute repeater wristwatch produced for its 250th anniversary. This exceptional timepiece, the Classique Minute Repeater 7365, will be produced in a limited edition of only 25 pieces.
It is powered by a new movement; it is the first water-resistant minute repeater ever created by Breguet and is only one to offer a 75-hour power reserve. It is also the first watch of this type in Breguet gold (case and calibre), with a unique dial in Bleu de France grand feu enamel. Its case is directly inspired by the Souscription watch that launched the manufacture’s anniversary celebrations this, year and aligns with the new aesthetic codes of the brand’s Classique line of watches.
A tribute to timeless excellence
As 2025 draws to a close, the final chapter celebrating 250 years of uninterrupted is written, and a new dawn is breaking for Breguet. The Classique Répétition Minutes 7365 is part of this new era, with the introduction of a new diameter for the brand’s minute repeaters, moving from 42 mm to 39 mm.
A Breguet gold calibre
The calibre 567.2, which was used in most of the pieces featuring this eminent complication, will gradually be phased out and become a sought-after collector’s item. It has now been replaced by the calibre 1896.
This is the first minute repeater movement made by the manufacture in Breguet gold. At its heart, the gongs – invented by A.-L. Breguet – are made of white gold gilded with Breguet gold and directly attached to the patented Breguet gold case.
The gongs in gold are also patented by the house. This continuity of similar materials allows for perfect and harmonious transmission of each sound.
The frequency of its balance wheel has also been increased to 3 Hz, or 21,600 vibrations per hour, enabling the calibre to be precise, stable and capable of quickly recovering from disturbances that may be caused by external shocks. With an optimised gear train, escapement and barrel, the power reserve now reaches 75 hours.
A contemporary movement
The Breguet teams have also equipped the calibre 1896 with a silicon escapement (spiral, anchor and escape wheel). This essential addition makes the watch more stable, as the regulating organ is non-magnetic by nature. It is certified by the Breguet hallmark as resistant to fields of approximately 600 gauss.
It is also more resistant to temperature variations that can increase or decrease the active length of the balance spring, thereby affecting the watch’s precision.
The sounds of each piece, produced by activating the gongs, are also subject to a precise testing protocol to certify the harmonic tuning, melodic tuning of the gongs, chime duration and acoustic level. All these measurements are carried out at the Manufacture, in an anechoic chamber.
The harmonic tuning is carried out in accordance with EP4012511 patent filed by the House.
Thanks to all these improvements, the Classique 7365 is the first Minute Repeater to be certified by the Breguet Hallmark, with individually certified precision of +/- 2 seconds per day (finished and assembled watch).
The same hallmark also certifies the watch’s water resistance. The Classique Répétition Minutes 7365 is the first water-resistant minute repeater ever made by Breguet. To achieve this, the most sensitive area of the case (the complication activation lock) has been fitted with gaskets, enabling the case to be water-resistant to 3 bar / 30 metres.
A completely revamped aesthetic
The design of the Classique Répétition Minutes 7365 is the result of a highly accomplished artistic vision. On the one hand, the watch has a familiar appearance.
At first glance, one can see the aesthetic vocabulary invented by A.-L. Breguet 250 years ago: a slim case, guilloché middle, hollowed-out apple-shaped hands, grand feu enamel dial, applied Breguet numerals in polished Breguet gold, the master’s signature at 12 o’clock and a secret signature at 6 o’clock.
However, this is a new interpretation of most of these codes, as evidenced by the new shape of the lugs. The white gold of the dial is covered with Bleu de France enamel. This is the first time in its recent history that the Manufacture has developed this shade. This unique colour has been part of French history since the reign of Louis XIV and appears in portraits of the king in his coronation robes.
It therefore has its origins in Versailles and its court, with which Breguet senior would become closely associated a century later. This colour can be seen on many façades of French historical monuments, including the Place Vendôme; visitors to the Breguet boutique and museum also pass through a Bleu de France door before discovering the world of the maison.
From one world to another
The reverse side of the Classique Répétition Minutes 7365 reveals a movement that is entirely hand-engraved. The motif reflects the history of the piece: inspired by 18th-century Paris, designed and manufactured in 2025 in A.-L. Breguet’s native Switzerland.
The upper part of the movement reproduces, in Breguet gold, the view of the Quai de l’Horloge. This district of Paris is located on the Île de la Cité, the historic heart of the City of Light. We can see its façades, its banks, and the Pont-Neuf, which connects it to both banks of the Seine, flowing peacefully in the foreground.
The lower part of the movement depicts the landscape of the Vallée de Joux, with its fir trees and mist, and the iconic Dent de Vaulion at the heart of the composition. The scene is mirrored in the Quai de l’Horloge, as if reflected in the Seine. A dreamlike, symbolic landscape, recalling the dual heritage of the Classique Répétition Minutes 7365.
Each piece is hand-engraved with its individual number and marked with the Breguet hallmark on the balance bridge. It will be delivered in an individually numbered case, inspired by the red Moroccan leather cases used by Breguet at the time and designed especially to celebrate the brand’s 250th anniversary.
