Tradition Chronographe 7077
This watch features two completely independent gear trains, one for the hours and minutes, the other for the chronograph.
The measurement of short intervals allows for an immediate glimpse of the function requested, but achieving this is a mechanical challenge, as engaging the chronograph can disrupt the proper functioning of the main gear train. The creation of two distinct gear trains solves this problem and provides greater precision to the different displays. In terms of aesthetics, the Tradition 7077 does not deviate from the rule and features an exceptional level of symmetry. The indicator to start the chronograph is located at 6 o’clock. At 2 o’clock and at 10 o’clock, in perfect opposition, retrograde hands indicate, respectively, the watch’s power reserve and the chronograph’s minutes counter, whereas at 4 o’clock and 8 o’clock the two balance-wheels face one another. The one devoted to the watch function operates at a frequency of 3 Hz, whilst the one dedicated to the chronograph operates at 5 Hz, for greater precision.
