Thanks to its refined style, this watch ensures a more instinctive display of its different functions.\n\nDrawing the gaze towards the essential information, the opaque hours chapter decorated with Roman numerals is strongly distinguished from the ensemble of the dial. The open-tipped blued-steel hands make it easy to read the time. Under the disc, a “Clous de Paris” guilloché motif decorates the dial. It also displays a retrograde calendar at 12 o’clock, complemented by the day and months counters, placed at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock, respectively. The tourbillon, which completes a rotation in 1 minute, is located at 6 o’clock and beautifully echoes the hours chapter.

Seconds display

The seconds display makes it possible to follow the passage of time with precision. Depending on the construction of the movement, it may take the form of a central seconds hand or an off-centred small seconds display, integrated into the architecture of the dial.

Calendar
The calendar displays the date on the dial, generally by aperture, hand or disc. Simple in appearance, this indication requires precise integration both into the movement and into the balance of the dial.

Tourbillon

Invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1801, the tourbillon is designed to compensate for the effects of gravity on the regulating organ. By placing the escapement and the balance wheel in a mobile cage, it remains one of the House’s most emblematic complications.

Bevelling

Bevelling consists in chamfering and then polishing the edges of the movement components. This finish highlights the contours of the parts, catches the light and reveals the precision of the work devoted to the smallest details.

Hand engraving

Hand engraving consists in incising the material using traditional tools to create decorations, inscriptions or motifs. Each gesture calls upon the artisan’s expertise and gives the piece a unique character.

Guilloché

Engine-turning engraves regular patterns into the material using a hand-operated lathe. At Breguet, this expertise structures the dial, catches the light and reinforces the legibility of the indications.

Polishing

Mirror polishing consists in working the surface until a perfectly smooth and brilliant reflection is obtained. This finish requires great regularity in order to reveal the material without distorting the angles or volumes of the component.
