Classique La Musicale 7800

Like a musical box, this model houses a mechanism that can play a classical music melody.

This achievement was made possible thanks to a mechanism whose traditional cylinder has been replaced by a disc and acts successively on the 15 blades of the keyboard. A second innovation makes it possible to amplify the frequencies required for the production of the melody, without sacrificing impermeability. This innovation is a membrane in metallic glass that has been hand-engraved on a rose engine and placed under the movement. On the dial of this piece are the hours, minutes and seconds in the centre, whereas the power reserve indicator and the melody starter are visible at 3 o’clock and 9:30, respectively. A musical detail can be admired on the seconds hand, which ends in a treble clef motif. The dial is hand-engraved on a rose engine with a diamond motif, and when the melody starts, the dial, which is connected to the pin-bearing disc, makes a complete rotation on itself.
