The seconds display makes it possible to follow the passage of time with precision. Depending on the construction of the movement, it may take the form of a central seconds hand or an off-centred small seconds display, integrated into the architecture of the dial.
The minute repeater strikes the hours, quarters and minutes on demand. One of the most exacting complications, it transforms time into an acoustic indication through a highly precise striking mechanism.
The passing strike automatically marks the hour or the quarters, without any action from the wearer. This complication makes time audible at regular intervals, thanks to a striking mechanism integrated into the movement.
Invented by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1801, the tourbillon is designed to compensate for the effects of gravity on the regulating organ. By placing the escapement and the balance wheel in a mobile cage, it remains one of the House’s most emblematic complications.
