This watch displays the age and phases of the moon at 12 o’clock, complemented by a power-reserve indication at 3 o’clock.
Featuring a 36 mm round case in 18-carat gold with a finely fluted caseband, the Classique 8788 is offered with a hand-guilloché gold dial or a grand feu enamel dial. The bezel and lugs are set with 96 diamonds, while the blued-steel open-tipped Breguet hands underscore the timeless elegance of the piece.

Seconds display
The seconds display makes it possible to follow the passage of time with precision. Depending on the construction of the movement, it may take the form of a central seconds hand or an off-centred small seconds display, integrated into the architecture of the dial.
Power reserve indicator
The power reserve indicator displays the remaining autonomy of the movement before it needs to be wound. It makes it possible to monitor the energy available in the barrel, while adding a direct mechanical reading to the dial.
Moon phase
The moon phase reproduces the progression of the lunar cycle on the dial. A complication that is both astronomical and decorative, it combines the reading of time with a poetic representation of the sky.
Bevelling
Bevelling consists in chamfering and then polishing the edges of the movement components. This finish highlights the contours of the parts, catches the light and reveals the precision of the work devoted to the smallest details.
Guilloché
Engine-turning engraves regular patterns into the material using a hand-operated lathe. At Breguet, this expertise structures the dial, catches the light and reinforces the legibility of the indications.
Perlage
Perlage consists in applying small regular overlapping circles to the movement components. This decorative finish creates a luminous texture and highlights the care devoted to surfaces that are usually only scarcely visible.
