Breguet forges close links with Russia and sees its name appear in a novel entitled « The Missing Watch » from the Russian writer Alexandre Ivanovitch Kouprine. The story stages the disappearing of a Breguet watch during a high spirited evening. The one which is suspected of the theft writes a note before committing suicide: « I could not allow myself to be searched for the sole reason that I had in my pocket a Breguet precisely similar to that of Count Olkhovsky, left to me by my grandfather. ».
