Breguet and Dumas reunited again

More than two centuries ago, Alexandre Dumas' “The Count of Monte Cristo” was published. Like other of his wagers, such as Honoré de Balzac and Victor Hugo, the illustrious writer chose to quote Breguet in this marvel of French literature.

“The Danglars watch, a masterpiece by Breguet, which he had carefully wound the day before before setting off, struck half past five in the morning. ”

In 2024, the Maison is partnering with the new film adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre De La Patellière, by lending several historic timepieces: a pocket watch worn by the Count and played by Pierre Niney, and a Marine chronometer installed on the desk of shipowner Morel.

The official release date is Friday, June 28, 2024 and features the following cast members: Pierre Niney, Bastien Bouillon, Anaïs Demoustier, Anamaria Vartolomei, Laurent Lafitte, Pierfrancesco Favino, Patrick Mille, Vassili Schneider, Julien De Saint Jean, Adèle Simphal, Stéphane Varupenne and Julie De Bona. The film is produced by Chapter 2 (Dimitri Rassam) and Pathé Films.
