THE TOURBILLON EXHIBITION CONTINUES ITS JOURNEY IN CHINA

21/08/2013

After its success in Shanghai, the exhibition "Breguet, the innovator. Inventor of the tourbillon" continues its journey and takes place until September 15th, 2013, at the Breguet Boutique in Ningbo Heyi, China.

A.-L. Breguet’s invention of the tourbillon in 1801 set a new standard for timekeeping. Invented to offset the influence of gravity, this extraordinary system is designed as a mobile cage which houses the entire escapement and which performs a complete rotation, in one, four or six minutes. This kind of rotation inspired A.-L. Breguet, who opted for the term “tourbillon” to refer to its creation, one of the most significant advances in the history of watchmaking.

The next Asian stop of the exhibition is Japan. It will take place on October 7th, 2013, at the National Museum of Tokyo, the largest of the country.
