This where the flash should stand...

Classic, Sophisticated and Timed to Perfection are just a few words to describe the link between one of the world’s greatest watch brands, Breguet, and its successful musical companion, the New York Philharmonic. For the first year ever, Breguet is partnering with the New York Philharmonic and sponsoring the symphony’s opening night gala on Sept. 22, 2010.
Music Director, Alan Gilbert, will begin his second season as music director of the New York Philharmonic when he conducts the Orchestra’s Opening Night at 7:30 p.m., with the gala presented by Breguet. The concert which celebrates the philharmonic’s 169th season will feature the U.S. Premiere of Wynton Marsalis’ Symphony No. 3, Swing Symphony, a New York Philharmonic Co-Commission with the Berlin Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic and The Barbican, performed jointly by the New York Philharmonic and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra.
The Swiss watch brand, which has been known to collaborate with many musical concerts, is excited for this new opportunity with the New York Philharmonic. The brand continues expanding its cultural and influential background with events such as the Geneva International Music Competition and the Lucerne Festival. Every year since 2002, Montres Breguet has associated its corporate values with those of the Geneva International Music Competition (Concours de Genéve). And in keeping with Breguet’s underlying philosophy, Mr Hayek has ceaselessly sought to reaffirm Breguet’s reputation and privileged position at the heart of European culture. In recent years, Breguet has had the pleasure of also sponsoring a series of prestigious concerts in the U.S. with conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 2007.
Although this is the brand’s initial collaboration with the New York Philharmonic, Breguet’s centuries of tradition and keen sense of innovation in watchmaking are mirrored in musical disciplines. The musicians share their passion and their talent with the horological craftsmen who bring to art a similar degree of commitment, creativity and excellence. This unique partnership exemplifies the meeting of two worlds, Haute Horlogerie and music, both dedicated to beauty and driven by inspiration.
