BREGUET AT THE LOUVRE : COMPLETION OF AN EXCEPTIONAL PARTNERSHIP17/06/2014
The House of Breguet's exceptional patronage of the Louvre was brought to an elegant conclusion in the presence of Mrs. Nayla Hayek, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Swatch Group. A grand patron of the Louis XIV rooms, Breguet celebrated with the world’s largest museum the reopening of its Louis XIV to Louis XVI galleries, dedicated to 18th century decorative arts.
Since such an event was bound to be about sharing, Breguet treated around 300 invitees to an exceptional evening worthy of the splendours of the historical royal palace. Welcomed in the Louvre on a Tuesday, a day when the premises are usually closed to the public, guests had the privilege of visiting the museum at their leisure and of admiring at a serene pace the splendid salons and the rich wealth of objects housed within these restored areas. A gala dinner beneath the splendid glass pyramid of the Louvre, accompanied by beautiful music, marked the end of the festivities.
Through this patronage, which followed on from the restoration and reopening in 2008 of the Château du Petit Trianon, Breguet has pursued its activity in support of European culture and lived up to the distinction as a “grand mécène” (grand patron) conferred upon it by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.
