Breguet and the Ottoman Empire exhibition - Topkapi Palace Museum – Istanbul01.06.2010
June 1st to August 31st 2010
Breguet is associating with the Topkapi Palace Museum in presenting a prestigious collection of antique watches specially made for the Turkish market. These richly enamelled, brightly coloured watches stand out from the resolutely neo-classical appearance of traditional Breguet watches. The exhibition will present historical 19th century pieces belonging to the Topkapi Palace Museum and the Breguet museums, including the Sympathique clock made for Mahmud II, letters exchanged between Breguet and the Turkish ambassador Esseid Ali Effendi, along with portraits of famous clients.
Thus united for the very first time, these 15 exceptional pieces make up a remarkable exhibition that can be admired at the Topkakpi Palace Museum from June 1st to August 31st 2010.
